Dr. Rashim Wadhwa Secures Research Grant to Investigate First-Generation Student Enrollment in Rural Punjab

Dr. Rashim Wadhwa, Associate Professor in the Department of Education, Akal University has been awarded with a short-term empirical research project entitled “Diagnostic Analysis of the relationship between space, resources and university enrolment of first-generation students in rural Punjab” by Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Total research grant of 8.9 lakh has been sanctioned in order to carry out this research. Proposed research is highly relevant not for the policy makers but also for the society as the most important challenge for Punjab especially in the rural Punjab is to enroll the first-generation students located in the rural areas of Punjab beyond the secondary level. This research besides contributing to expansion of knowledge in this field is also expected to be useful for the the institutional leaders, teachers and counselors.

International Collaboration

She has recently published a collaborative research with the colleagues from Institute of Education, Higher School of Economics, National Research University, Moscow, Russia in the journal of Higher Education for the Future.
