The United Nations General Assembly announced 15 July as World Youth Skills Day fostering skill enhancement, comprehensive development, employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship among youth.
On this day, we celebrate the ceaseless efforts of our university to make the youth independent and empowered. Akal University with its forward-looking approach, arranges various possibilities for the students. It has a strong commitment to the empowerment of youth and emphasizes skill enhancement in them. Since the inception of the Center for Competitive Examination (CCE), summer camps for aspirants in civil services have been organized. The following are key highlights of the camp:.
Objectives Behind the Skill Enhancement Courses
Every year, under the umbrella of the Akal Summer Camp, we host various activities and skill enhancement courses that aid the holistic development of youth. It includes improving communication and language skills, as well as personality development programs. This year’s summer camp features a computer fundamentals course, a UPSC guidance course, etc. Such programs are made available to students free of cost and other facilitation such as accommodation, meals, and transportation is also available.
Elevating Your Skills at UPSC Summer Camp
Every year, the UPSC Summer Camp is organized by knowledgeable instructors at CCE. And this year, approximately 110 students joined it from various disciplines joined it. Mr. Mahboob Husain Sardar and Mr. Muzzamil Khan are in charge of the camp. Students are taught preparation-related subjects in accordance with their allocated batch. Also, test series, answer writing sessions, and expert lectures are planned according to that. It is divided into various batches according to the plan for giving a preliminary examination. This year, the camp is scheduled for July.
Learning the Effective Use of Technology with the Computer Fundamentals Course
The Digital age demands the efficient use of technology to enhance the productivity of any task. Keeping this into consideration, Akal University’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering took the incredible initiative of introducing the Computer Fundamentals Course to the youth. Our top-notch faculty will be teaching this government-recognized course. The camp was held from June 3 to June 21 and from June 24 to July 8.
Distinctive dimensions of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity were taught to the enrollees.
The Civil Services Project 2024
It is a fully sponsored project that will give the top 30 candidates found via an entrance exam full funding. These aspirants will be facilitated with one-to-one mentorship and a strategic preparation plan featuring evening classes, evaluation tests, personality development programs, and periodic interaction with the selected candidates to build their confidence. This integrated initiative is structured to be flexible with their graduation program.
The government of India is operating various skill enhancement courses for youth, such as the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and the National Skill Development Mission. Akal University is also committed to the idea and provides a platform for youngsters where they can develop essential skills.
