College and University Life is undoubtedly a remarkable period in students’ life. It is not only full of lessons, opportunities, and experiences but is also a phase where students shape their futures and turn their dreams into reality.
The Convocation Ceremony at the University is not only a ritual but is also the celebration of the achievements of the students of the University. It also holds a special place in the academic life of students and universities. In the ceremony, students are honored for their hard work and dedication.
Akal University aspires for a better and brighter future for its students.
Akal University is organizing its 2nd Convocation Ceremony on April 22, 2023, from 11 am at the University Campus.
It will be a two-day event. The first day will be an Alumni Meet on 21st April 2023 from 9:30 am, and Second Day will host the Convocation Ceremony on 22nd April.
Ceremony Highlights
Alumni Meet will also feature a rehearsal, where the students will be directed for the seating arrangement for the smooth functioning of the Convocation Ceremony.
The Convocation Ceremony will be presided over by Dr. Davinder Singh Ji, Chancellor of Akal University, and President of The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib.
Prof. Br. Buta Singh Sidhu- Vice Chancellor of MRS Punjab Technical University, will grace the ceremony.
It will be a significant event at Akal University, and the preparations are in full swing.
The ceremony will start with the recitation of Shabad Kirtan to seek blessings from the Almighty, as it is believed that the invocation of prayers graces the auspicious occasion.
Then there will be a keynote address by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu, followed by an inspiring speech by Dr. Davinder Singh Ji. Vice-chancellor of the University.
Prof. Gurmail Singh Ji, will also address the students.
Then the much-awaited moment will take place. Students will be awarded their degrees and medals.
Honoring the accomplishments
This will be a momentous occasion for a large number of awardees. In the convocation ceremony, 252 students will get their UG Degree, 74 will get PG Degree, one will get Ph.D. and 15 Students will be awarded University Medal, and two will be awarded the Chancellor Medal.
Recollection of Old Memories by the Alumni
The ceremony will be memorable for all. In the convocation ceremony, alumni will meet old friends and relive their old golden moments.
They can share their experiences and insights about University, Friends, and Faculty.
Accommodation and other arrangements
As the students will be coming from different parts of the country and it is a two-day event, the proper arrangements have been made to stay in the boys’ and girls’ hostel. The food has been specially planned to be delicious and exciting.
Some Glimpses from last year’s Convocation
Since establishing the University in 2015, the University organized its first Convocation ceremony on July 23, 2022.
Chief Guest Padma Shri Professor Hamohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, graced the ceremony. Other prominent personalities were also present at the event.
At the end of the event, the graduates’ degree recipients and their parents shared their happy moments. They thanked the University administration for organizing such a grand and fantastic event.
