Introduction to Sikhi Gyan Pariksha

It is an examination which provides a special opportunity for candidates from Sikh Community to get a special additional scholarship for admission into Akal University programs.
The candidate needs to conform to the basic dictum of Sikh Philosophy of maintaining “Sabat Soorat” or “not damaging body hairs in any form“.

How and Why Akal University conducts the SGP

Akal University is running on Philanthropy model, where donors are primarily from Sikh community and therefore, would like to support all needy candidates but additionally persons from Sikh community who believe in their cause. Therefore, AUTS has been entrusted the responsibility of conducting SGP for candidates from Sikh community.

Aim of SGP

To attract and admit Sikh students across the country for UG and PG programs being conducted at the Akal University, a ‘Sikhi Gyan Parikhya’  (SGP) is conducted every year.  

Eligibility for SGP

Any student (male/ female/ other) from Sikh community,

• who is maintaining Sabat Soorat (uncut body hairs) and
• who would like to get admission into any UG or PG programs conducted at Akal University, commencing session 2023, and
• who meets the admission criteria for that program. 

Special Benefits of Sikhi Gyan Prikhya Scholarships

SGP Scholarships shall be awarded to those candidates who will qualify the SGP, for taking admissions in UG and PG programs of Akal University.

1. Rs. 10000/-, Rs. 7500/- and Rs. 5000/- to the First, Second and Third rank holders respectively.
2. Rs. 2100/- to the rest of the admitted students.

The amount of scholarship shall be credited by the University in the tuition fee of the first year

About the Exam

How to Register for SGP 2023

Online registration process will commence from 18 June 2023.

  This should be paid online into the university account by the above link, or by using QR code as under:
  
• Registration fee:  Rs 200/-
• The form can be submitted independently.
  However, the admit card will be issued only after proof of payment of the registration fee is forwarded.  

SGP examination syllabus and Pattern

The paper will have multiple choice questions (MCQ), and the candidate will be required to mark one of the four options for every question online.
The questions will be in both Punjabi and English to cater for students at the national level.
A total of 50 questions will be there to be attempted in one hour.

Conduct of SGP 2023

The SGP will be conducted on 10 July 2023 from 11 AM to 12 Noon, in online mode.
A mock test will be conducted on 10 July 2023 at 10 AM

Dear Participants,

Hopefully, you are preparing well for the “Sikhi Gyan Prikhya (SGP-2023)” being organized by Akal University, Talwandi Sabo on 10 July 2023 (Monday) from 11:00AM to 12:00 Noon i.e. one hour. The candidates will be required to attempt 50 questions in 60 minutes. There is no negative marking.

A google form link will be shared with you via WhatsApp group/email,
just before the commencement of the SGP-2023. 

Kindly follow the instructions given below for SGP-2023:

1. 1. Mock Test: Join the link sent to you by 9:55 AM from your mobile/ laptop/ desktop.
      The link would be active for 20 minutes only.
      The participants are required to attempt a sample test paper of five questions for practice.
      In case of any problem, please contact any of these phone numbers as given below.
   2. The final paper link will be shared at 10:55 AM and the paper will be active from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon only. The participants are required to attempt the final test paper of 50 questions in 60 minutes.
      In case of any problem please contact any of these numbers as given below.
   3. The participants are expected to be on high moral grounds while attempting the questions and should not use any kind of unfair means.
