The Akal University Library has been awarded a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for being an active data contributor towards enhancing DELNET Best Practices – Data Sharing and Accessibility 2023-24.
The ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for Best Practices – Data Sharing and Accessibility 2023-24 was proudly presented to the library by Dr. Sangeeta Kaul, Director, DELNET, New Delhi.
The certificate recognizes the library’s efforts in sharing about Ten Thousand library records for the benefit of the scholarly community of their own university and other DELNET member-institutions
DELNET and its Role
Developing Library Network, New Delhi is a resource-sharing library network that connects nearly 7700 institutions in different states and countries. DELNET facilitates users with browsing Union catalogs, Inter-Library Loan and Document Delivery Services, etc.
It provides member libraries access to the data, delivering books through couriers and providing extensive connections. It is a significantly user-friendly database. The links under DELNET comprised Universities, Colleges, Organizations, medical hospitals, etc. And modernization of libraries is not a distant dream while utilizing such a database.
Akal University’s Commitment to Data Sharing and Accessibility
This recognition highlights the commitment of the University to providing accessibility for sharing of data, which is essential for promoting research and development.
Data sharing and accessibility are essential as it encourages research and development. It not only makes the analysis easier but reduces its cost also. By sharing about 10,000 library records, The Department of Library at Akal University has promoted the research facility for its students and faculty and facilitated the whole academic community.

Mr. Shahzeb Hasan, Assistant Librarian cum Incharge, has played a crucial role in ensuring the library’s records are accurate and easily accessible to users. The recognition also acknowledges the contributions of the entire library staff. Their collective efforts have made this institution a valuable resource for students, faculty, and researchers.
