Physiotherapy Camp: Alleviating Pain, Raising Hopes

Akal University laid the foundation of the Department of Physiotherapy with the altruistic motive of serving humanity. Since then, this department has performed exceptionally well with its outreach projects and OPD services. Recently, they have raised the hope of the people of village Bangi Nihal Singh Wala with the incredible physiotherapy camp.
A highly responsible and competent physiotherapy team visited the village to alleviate their pain and ease their discomfort.

A Step Towards Recovery

The camp has been conducted under the guidance of Dr. Navjot Kaur, PT, and Dr. Kritika PT accompanied by enthusiastic students from the Department of Physiotherapy. When the villagers got the notification regarding this camp, more than 90 patients from neighboring villages including Mehta, Bangi Ruldu, Raman Mandi, Kamalu, and Bhagi Bandar attended the camp. The patients who visited the camp presented with a range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions including cervical pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, lumbar pain, wrist pain, nerve pathologies, and hemiplegia.

Education and Awareness

This camp was also aimed at making people aware of the effective techniques to treat pain-induced problems. With the live demonstration of treating the patients, various techniques were taught to them about posture correction, workplace ergonomics, and early intervention in chronic pain conditions.
The village administration of Bangi Nihal Singh Wala, especially the patients extended their heartfelt gratitude towards the compassionate physiotherapy team.
