Raising Awareness for Environmental Conservation
The Department of Life Sciences, in collaboration with NSS Unit–II, organized the World Wetlands Day Celebration on February 6, 2026, to spread awareness about the importance of wetlands and the urgent need for their conservation.

Students learned about the role wetlands play in maintaining biodiversity, regulating climate, supporting wildlife, and sustaining human life. To encourage creative engagement, the event featured Poster Making and Speech Competitions, where participants presented innovative ideas on themes such as wetland conservation, water sustainability, and ecosystem protection.
Bridging Technology and Industry with AI and Robotics
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in collaboration with the Training & Placement Cell, organized a Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics that attracted more than 250 B.Tech and BCA students.
Experts from Techcadd conducted interactive sessions covering advanced technologies such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Robotic Automation. The workshop provided students with hands-on exposure and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world technological applications.
Strengthening Research Infrastructure
A major milestone for Akal University was the inauguration of advanced research laboratories in the Department of Physics.
Two modern laboratories were established:
- Advanced Nanomaterial and Energy Applications Laboratory
- Experiential Nuclear Physics Laboratory
These facilities aim to promote scientific research, innovation, and hands-on experimentation, empowering students and researchers to explore emerging scientific fields with modern equipment and infrastructure.
Expanding Research Exposure Through Academic Visits
The Department of Chemistry organized an educational visit to the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda.
The visit provided students with valuable exposure to state-of-the-art analytical instruments used for material characterization, spectroscopy, and advanced chemical analysis. Such visits help students understand modern research techniques and strengthen their practical knowledge in scientific research.

Promoting Inclusive and Empathetic Education
Students from the Department of Education undertook an educational visit to the Gurbanta Das Deaf and Dumb School, Bathinda as part of their Community Living Programme.
The visit helped future educators gain a deeper understanding of special education, inclusive learning environments, and learner diversity. Through direct interaction and observation, participants explored the challenges faced by students with disabilities and learned approaches for creating inclusive classrooms.
Encouraging Gender Equality through Public Policy Awareness
An insightful session titled “Gender Responsive Budgeting: A Tool for Women’s Empowerment” was organized to highlight how government budgets can promote gender equality.
The discussion focused on how public finance and policy decisions influence education, health, employment, and social security for women. Participants learned how gender-responsive budgeting can serve as an effective tool for ensuring equitable resource allocation and inclusive development.
Celebrating Creativity at the Skill Exchange Fair
Students organized a vibrant Skill Exchange Fair under the Community Living Programme, promoting peer learning and creativity.
The event transformed the campus into a lively platform where students showcased diverse talents such as:

Understanding the Union Budget through Budget Mania 2026
The Department of Economics organized Budget-Mania 2026, a quiz competition focused on the Union Budget 2026.
A total of 11 teams participated enthusiastically, testing their knowledge of fiscal policies, economic developments, and government budget provisions. The event provided students with an engaging platform to deepen their understanding of national economic policies.
Promoting Heart Health Awareness
The Red Ribbon Club, in collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy, organized an awareness session titled “Heart and Health.”
The session was conducted by Dr. Harbhajan Singh, a renowned cardiologist from Harbhajan Hospital, Talwandi Sabo. He educated participants about cardiac diseases, early warning signs of heart attacks, preventive measures, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Nearly 200 students and staff members attended the session, making it a significant step toward promoting health awareness on campus.
Inspiring Civil Services Aspirants
The Centre for Competitive Examination (CCE) organized an interactive session with IPS officer Ravi Kumar for students preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
During the session, he shared valuable insights on exam preparation strategies, discipline, and career planning, motivating students to pursue their dreams of serving the nation through civil services.

Promoting Physical Wellness and Posture Awareness
The Department of Physiotherapy organized a Posture Awareness and Wellness Program under the theme “Correct Your Posture, Protect Your Future.”

A key highlight was the Posture Assessment Camp, where 70 participants underwent posture evaluation using scientific techniques such as posture grids and plumbline methods. Participants also received corrective exercise recommendations to prevent musculoskeletal problems.
Advancing Knowledge in Physiotherapy
The month concluded with a webinar on “The Core of Manual Therapy.”
The session was delivered by Dr. Amrutkuvar Shivaji Rayjade, Principal and Professor at D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Kolhapur. The webinar provided detailed insights into biomechanical principles, grading systems, ethical considerations, and clinical applications of manual therapy.

More than 60 students, interns, and faculty members participated in the academically enriching session.
