With this vision, Akal University proudly inaugurated its Atmospheric Research Laboratory,
an advanced facility under the Department of Physics dedicated to studying the invisible forces that control life on Earth.
The Ceremony – A Blend of Warmth, Wisdom & Wonder
A heartfelt welcome to Dr. Ramandeep Kaur opened the event with a warm and engaging welcome, setting a tone of curiosity and celebration for students and faculty alike.
A Peek Into the Future by Dr. Parminder Kaur, Laboratory Coordinator, then introduced the audience to the lab’s cutting-edge equipment instruments capable of monitoring Air quality, Atmospheric composition, Climate parameters, and Environmental pollutants. Her presentation painted a picture of a lab where students won’t just learn science they will experience it.
Prof. Gurmail Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, delivered a powerful message emphasizing how atmospheric science connects to every field like Environmental research, Agriculture, Public health, and Sustainable development.
His words reminded everyone that science doesn’t exist in isolation, it serves people, communities, and the planet.

This state-of-the-art facility is designed to become a hub of innovation, offering Real-time data collection, Environmental modeling, Climate analysis, Student-led research projects, and Collaborative studies with global potential.
