Akal Flood Relief Campaign Upholds Commitment to Social Responsibility

Recent floods in Punjab have created great havoc, and the spirit of empathy and humanity appeared as rays of great hope. Akal University’s National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit also stepped up to aid the community. Revealing their devotion to social responsibility and the welfare of the community, they reached the affected region to offer essential items to those struggling with the after-effects of the calamity.

Akal University’s NSS Team Takes Action

In the spirit of fulfilling its responsibility towards society, Akal University’s vibrant NSS Cell hosted a Flood Donation Drive to support flood victims. Our dedicated team of NSS volunteers and faculty members stepped into the flooded area and provided aid and service.
With unwavering determination, our team left for Fazilka in the morning with a green flag waved by Dr. GS Lamba, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Janpreet Singh, Dean of Student Welfare. The relief campaign included essential items, resources, and a lot of empathy and compassion to alleviate the suffering of affected families.

Serving Humanity with Incredible Participation

This initiative reflects the spirit of seva and compassion deeply rooted in the Sikh ethos, as taught by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who guided humanity towards service, equality, and care for one another. At Akal University, we believe that true education goes beyond classrooms. It empowers students to embody values of social responsibility, community service, and resilience in times of crisis.

Essential Items Distributed

With the assistance of the Akal Flood Relief Campaign, the NSS team was able to collect and distribute essential items extensively. These included food products, clean drinking water, blankets, clothes, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and other required provisions. This campaign was exceedingly focused on the delivery of relief goods to the most affected communities.

Akal University put forward the glimpses of hope in flood-affected areas beyond the material goods they arranged. Akal University’s NSS team’s presence made them believe that they are not alone in this phase of adversity.
