On 28 January 2026, the Department of Chemistry, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, organized an educational visit to the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at the Central University of Punjab (CUP), Bathinda. A total of 36 students participated in this enriching academic initiative aimed at strengthening practical knowledge and research orientation.
Exploring State-of-the-Art Analytical Infrastructure
The Central Instrumentation Facility at CUP Bathinda is a modern, multidisciplinary research laboratory equipped with advanced analytical and spectroscopic instruments used extensively in material characterization, chemical analysis, and applied research. During the visit, students were introduced to high-end instruments that play a crucial role in pharmaceutical research, materials science, and environmental chemistry.

Hands-On Learning Beyond Textbooks
The visit provided students with valuable hands-on exposure, enabling them to understand the real-world functioning of sophisticated scientific instruments. Experts at the facility demonstrated:
- Instrument operation, calibration techniques, and data interpretation
- Sample preparation methods essential for accurate and reliable analysis
- Practical applications of analytical tools in cutting-edge research areas
Interactive Session with Research Experts
Students also had the opportunity to interact with experienced CIF staff and researchers, who shared practical insights, research tips, and guidance for future academic and research pursuits. These interactions helped students gain clarity on career pathways in research, higher studies, and industry-oriented chemistry roles.

Inspiring Future Researchers
The educational visit proved to be a highly informative and motivating experience, encouraging students to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications. Such initiatives reflect Akal University’s commitment to experiential learning, academic excellence, and preparing students for research-driven careers.
