Akal University, through its National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell, is relentlessly working to build socially responsible and competent individuals. Our NSS Cell is an ideal platform for volunteers who seek to work for the welfare of the society. Reflecting a complete commitment to “Not Me, But You”, NSS Cell promotes a spirit of empathy, selfless service, and social responsibility among the students.
Participating in Society-Oriented Activities
The whole year witnessed a series of activities conducted by the NSS Cell. The motto of these events is- social upliftment, spreading awareness, community service, environmental and climate action. It includes:
- Blood Donation Camps: NSS Cell in association with local health centers organizes several blood donation camps. Students, faculty members, and NSS volunteers show incredible participation in these camps.
- Cleanliness Drive: It is said that a healthy mind and body stay in a clean environment. And cleanliness is the imperative to live a healthy life. Keeping that into consideration, NSS Cell organizes cleanliness drives from time to time.
- Awareness Programs: Throughout the year, awareness sessions on the environment, health, hygiene, disaster mitigation, and rehabilitation are hosted.
- Celebrating Days of International and National Importance: Every year NSS Cell celebrates various significant days such as World Environment Day, International Yoga Day, and NSS Day.
Building Responsible Citizens
Our NSS Unit honors the spirit of volunteerism among the students and encourages wider participation. This is not a rhetorical organization but works on the ground through its educational sessions, campaigns, and many outreach programs. It equips the students with essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, and working efficiently.
Our NSS Cell is more than a unit, it has immense potential for the holistic development of the youth. With each initiative, it affirms the significance of selfless service and leadership skills among the students. It will certainly build citizens who understand their responsibility towards society.
