Today’s fast-paced world requires our hundred percent proficiency, and between the races, our mental health is generally overlooked. Recognizing the needs of students, Akal University, took an incredible initiative to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. The event featured dedicated open discussions about mental health, promoting mental wellness, and reducing stigma through interactive workshops and sessions.

Objectives of the Mental Health Awareness Week

  •  To raise awareness about the significance of mental wellness
  • To offer them a platform where they can express themselves without being afraid of judgment
  • To guide students regarding stress management and emotional resilience

Major Highlights of the Program

  •  Awareness Talks and Expert Sessions
    Dr. Pawan Kumar from the Department of Psychology, along with other faculty members and students, conducted sessions on stress management, early signs of mental health issues, and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Interactive Workshops
    Students from various departments are actively involved in workshops on mindfulness, breathing techniques for stress relief, meditation, etc.
  • Student-led Campaigns and Poster Presentation
    Volunteers from the Department of Psychology prepared posters, infographics depicting mental health issues, helpline numbers, and self-help techniques.
