UPSC Super 30 Inauguration Session
‘UPSC Super 30 Coaching Batch‘ is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to provide a complete coaching-like environment to students. The Centre for Competitive Examinations (CCE) of Akal University took full responsibility for building young civil servants. Students are selected for this program through a rigorous selection process. The insightful program includes one-on-one mentoring, a detailed plan, pertinent materials, and sufficient performance evaluation and feedback. On the inauguration day of this batch, all the dignitaries were present to deliver their best wishes to the aspirants for their future endeavors.
Expert Session by Selected Officer
Mr. Burhan Zaman from Indian Defense Account Services (IDAS) led an interaction session to wrap up a month-long summer camp. UPSC aspirants participated in the program very enthusiastically. Mr. Burhan shared his invaluable journey of UPSC preparation. He also emphasized the significance of mental and physical well-being while preparing. After an expert discussion, students clarified their genuine doubts regarding the preparation.
Welcoming the Newcomers through an Induction Program
To provide the students a warm welcome at the campus, the university organized an induction program scheduled for 10 July 30. The detailed induction program was organized before the commencement of classes. The major objective of organizing this program is to make students familiar with the new environment. Expert sessions, alumni talks, and anti-ragging awareness campaigns were included in the induction program. To actively engage the students, various contests, such as Rangoli competitions based on the theme of anti-ragging, were organized.
Commencement of the Classes
This month is also marked with the commencement of classes for a new batch. Along with academics, lectures for competitive examinations such as UPSC and UGC/CSIR NET have also started. Students are stimulated with the pursuit of exploring new phases of life. They have been moving beyond their comfort zones and are prepared to succeed in life. They are assured of receiving a secure environment and continuous support from the faculty members and senior batches.
Dr. Komalpreet Kaur Achieved New Milestones
Akal University proudly announces the latest achievement of our competent Assistant Professor, Dr. Komalpreet Kaur, Department of Zoology. She has been invited to the SOVE Conference and awarded an International Travel Grant (ITS) by the Science and Research Board (SERB)
.
She has been selected by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) of the Government of India. The SOVE Conference is scheduled at Fort Collins, Colorado, USA, on September 15–19, 2024. She is presenting her invaluable research paper entitled “Compositional analysis and larvicidal activity of nanoemulsified Eucalyptus globulus (family: Myrtaceae) essential oil against Aedes (Diptera: Culicidae).
Ms. Manpreet Kaur Taking Part in an International Conference
Our Research Scholar from the Department of Physics, Ms. Manpreet Kaur, has been selected to represent our university at the 14th International Conference on Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions. The conference is scheduled in Whistler, BC, Canada, from August 18–23, 2024.
She will present her insightful research paper entitled “Configuration Assignments of Three Quasi-Particle Quadruplets in Odd-A Nuclei.” Ms. Manpreet has been awarded the prestigious SERB-International Travel Support (ITS) (INR 2.5 lakhs, approx.) and Young Scientist Support (INR 50,000, approx.). The SERB Travel Grant will cover round-trip economy class airfare via the shortest route, airport tax, visa fees, and conference registration fees.
Celebrating the Outstanding Success of Students
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) was passed by twelve of the Department of Education’s students, an incredible accomplishment. The CTET exam is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The incredible success has opened various avenues for the students. These young minds will certainly shape the education sector with their substantial contribution.
Cracking the CA Foundation
The Head Department of Commerce has reported that Dilpreet Kaur from B.Com. 2nd year has cracked the CA Foundation Examination. This is the prestigious examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The Department of Commerce and the Center for Competitive Examination collaboratively work to deliver industry-relevant curriculum and a competitive environment to the students. A few months back, three students, Vishali, Mitho Rani, and Parshdeep from B.Com., cleared the examination with continuous hard work and perseverance.
The above accomplishments take the strongest stand towards the university’s allegiance to excellence. The university makes ceaseless efforts to provide a brighter future for our students.
